This is how the match between long-time archrivals Negros Occidental Football Association’s Ceres-La Salle FC and Iloilo City’s Stallion FC is expected to be when both clubs clash against each other tomorrow at 5:00 PM, for the quarterfinal match of the 2013 PFF-Smart Club Championship at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
The history of rivalry between these two provinces had yet to end as hunger for supremacy prevails.
Anticipating tough performances from both sides, the Ceres FC and 2012 UFL Cup champion Stallion FC boosted their squads with highly-competitive booters from the Philippine Azkals, both erstwhile national team members as well as foreign reinforcements.
The home squad of veteran head coach Freddie “Nene” Lazarito will be bannered by Azkals’ Fil-Am striker Joshua Beloya, as well as former national team standouts, skipper, and defender Jason Cordova and keeper Michael Louie Casas.
Completing the Ceres FC roster are veteran defender Lemuel Unabia, Jason Panhay, J Bagiuoro, Abelardo Solinas, John Timothy Bolo, Jose Emmanuel Thomas Diel, , Aldrin Dolino, Joel Bedia, Anthony Tongson, Ronaldo Ian Treyes, Richard Sumabong, Hanesin Prince Antony, Jaime Poderoso, Jimuel Ariola, Daniel Sandoval, Peter Long, Danny Claxton and Korean nationals Yoon Byeong Jun, Choi Gun Hee, Kim Jung Mook, Sim Hyoung Min, Park Keon Hyeong and custodian Hyoun Jae Hun.
Joining Lazarito at the sideline are assistant coaches Ramon Janeo and Ali Go. Team managers are siblings Ricardo and Leo Rey Yanson.
On the other hand, the Iloilo-based Stallion FC will be boosted by Azkals midfielder Fil-Danish Jason de Jong and striker-skipper Ruben Doctora.
Also suiting up for the Ilonggo squad are keepers Wilson Muñoz, Louie Jay Sobrevega, Cyrus Andre Mohseni and Bruno Gabriel Santos; defenders Bervic Italia, Joaquin Garcia and Nathaniel Boblo; midfielders Andrew Brian Peterson, Antonio Albor, Jhenver Vergara, Jeremy Taylor Hohn and Romeo Martinez; and strikers Spanish Rufino Sanchez, Jimmy Vergara, Jomar Listingnio and Vince Chester Braga.
Meanwhile, among the Koreans in the team include Nam Yeul Woo, Lee Won Hyung, Park Bo Bae, Kim Il Hyo, Pi Yong Jae, Lee Joo Young and Kim Da Bin.
Heading the Stallion FC are Ernest Nierras and Dr. Pee Hyeun Hyung, and assistant coach Richard Bedia.
Supervising this game is match commissioner Augilbert Encontro from Duamguete City, while Paulline Pavelona is the general coordinator and Dennis Estaniel will be the referee assessor.
On the other hand, Visayas qualifier Cebu Queen City United will be facing another UFL team Pachanga FC today at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Cebu.
The Cebu-based squad will be boosted by loaned players from Dan Palami’s Global FC.
Among these players are Matthew Uy, Marvin Angeles, and Nigerian midfielder Fidelis Nnabuife.
Other matches today include Baguio United FC versus Gen. Trias International FC at the Benguet State University in La Trinidad Benguet, and the Romgarjal FC going up against the Green Archers United FC at the Jose Rizal Memorial State University pitch in Dapitan City./WDJ
