The reported sightings of the dreaded Ozamis-Dipolog armed robbery group in northern Negros Occidental, particularly in San Carlos City, is yet to be confirmed, acting Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, yesterday clarified.
The report is raw information which needs further validation or verification, according to De la Paz who, however, was quick to clarify his office does not want the police to let “their guards down.”
It was reported that the San Carlos Police Office had been placed on heightened alert on the possibility of a strike by the dreaded armed robbers.
The Ozamis-Dipolog rob group was first sighted in Dumaguete City, few days before they staged a broad daylight heist on F&C Pawnshop and Jewelry in Bacolod City.
The same group is being tagged for orchestrating the broad daylight robbery of the main office of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative last year./WDJ
