ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIREARMS. A resident of Purok Seaside, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City, was nabbed by members of Police Station 8 for violating R.A. 8294, also known as the Anti-Illegal Possession of Firearms Law.
Alvin Cabalhin, 20 years old, was arrested in front of Negros Sportsmen Coliseum, Barangay Tangub, this city, at around 10:45 p.m. last Thursday, August 29, after the police recovered from his possession a .38 caliber revolver loaded with one live ammunition.
WANTED PERSONS. Apprehended by operatives of Police Station 8 was Alexander “Alex” Medel, 44 years old and a resident of Purok Kaingin, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, for theft.
Medel was arrested in the said barangay at around 2:20 p.m. last Thursday, August 29, by virtue of the warrant of arrest issued by Bacolod City Regional Trial Court – Branch 43 Judge Philadelfa Pagapong-Agraviador last July 30, 2012.
The court had set a P20,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
Meanwhile, Narciso Dela Cruz, 34 years old and a resident of Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City, was arrested by members of Police Station 2 for violating section II, Article II of the R.A. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Dela Cruz was apprehended in the said barangay at around 3:45 p.m. last Thursday, August 29, by virtue of the warrant of arrest issued by Bacolod City Regional Trial Court – Branch 47 Judge Edgar Garvilles last January 17, 2011 with no bail recommended.
THEFT. Two residents of Calle Nueva Street, Barangay 11, Bacolod City, complained to Police Station 1 that some of their personal belongings were stolen.
Katherine Timonan, 27 years old, and Jenny Rose Eresma, 19, discovered that the room of their boarding house was already open and some of their personal belongings, including a Netbook worth P10,000, cellphone with charger worth P600, iron worth P300, Sony hard disk worth P8,000, a mini-speaker worth P400, a shampoo and a body soap worth P500, were stolen by an unidentified suspect at around 9:30 p.m. last Thursday, August 29.
SHOPLIFTING. A security guard reported to Police Station 1 the shoplifting incident that happened inside SM Supermarket last Thursday, August 29.
Patricia Ann Yap, 25 years old and a resident of Gan Subdivision, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, was allegedly caught by SG Arnold Aninion at around 11:46 a.m. while stealing assorted beauty products worth P2,403.25, a Hanford teens underwear worth P359.75, one set Walker underwear worth P599.75, one set Soen Bebe sando worth P189.75 and assorted vitamins worth P389.50.
Meanwhile, another security guard turned over a shoplifter to Police Station 1.
Angelie Carmona, 21 years old and a resident of Purok Santol, Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City, was reportedly caught in the act of stealing by SG Veronica Carasaguit. Recovered from Carmona’s possession were a pack of milk worth P47.15, three pieces chocolate worth P28.95 and a box of Stik-o worth P13.96 inside KJ Fairmart at Luzuriaga Street, this city, at around 11:40 a.m. last Thursday, August 29.
STABBING. A security personnel assigned at the Bacolod Public Plaza was stabbed.
Police records showed that Joebert Jamelo sustained a stab wound to his stomach after he was allegedly stabbed by the suspect with a stainless scissor measuring 4.5 inches.
The victim pointed to Ian Busaran, 25 years old and a resident of Barangay Bubug, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, as the one responsible for stabbing him. Busaran was arrested by members of Police Station 1 at the plaza at around 7:05 p.m. last Thursday, August 29./WDJ
