Job Fair in Talisay City

The City of Talisay marks its 13th Minuluan Festival with a two-day job recruitment activity as one of the events lined up during the weeklong celebration which starts tomorrow on the theme “Saulugon ang Naagum nga Kadalag-an sa Paghiliusa sang Tanan Agud Maangkon ang Balanse nga Kauswagan.”

Scheduled on September 6-7, 2012 at the New Talisay City Hall, the job fair will open with a program at 8 a.m. to be attended by Talisay Mayor Eric Saratan, Vice Mayor Neil Lizares and city officials, Victoria Mondragon of the Department of Labor and Employment Bacolod Field Office, POEA Bacolod Director Carmen Nagum, PESOPhil Region VI president Moises De la Cruz, and TESDA Provincial Director Lorena P. Yunque.

Dubbed “Obra Para Sa Masa,” this activity is one of the programs pursued by the Talisay government to assist job-hunting constituents by providing them adequate venues in order to find job here and abroad.

Saratan believes the regularly holding of job fairs in the city will ease the underlying unemployment problem and help curb poverty.

Talisay City PESO manager Gilbert Robles confirmed the participation of the following overseas agencies: Al-Alamia International Manpower, Concorde Human Resource Specialist, EEI Corporation, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, Mirben International Manpower Services, Confideral, MMML Recruitment Services, Inc., YWA Human Resource Corporation, Placewell International Services, Alliance International Recruitment and Placement Services, East West Placement Center, Eureka Personnel Management, Mori International Agency Corporation, Jones International, Zippy International, and SK Manpower.

Local companies include SM City Supermalls, SM SaveMore, Dynamic Builders, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Nature’s Village Hotel and Restaurants, Robinsons Place Bacolod, Royal Central Azucarera De La Carlota, Belle Grande Hotel, Integrated Management and General Services, Teletech, Panasiatic Solutions, and Transcom.

Urgently needed for immediate hiring are engineers, nurses, teachers, accountants, call center workers, mechanics, technicians, heavy equipment operators, construction-related skilled workers, cashiers and storekeepers, checkers, hotel and restaurant personnel, drivers, housekeeping and servicing, sales managers/supervisors, sales operators, HRD assistants, security and safety technicians, and others.
